About Me

Reefat Rumi

I recently completed my B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). I specialized in mechatronics during my last two years of study where I got to learn how to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software systems.

During my undergrad, I was heavily involved with Ryerson Rams Robotics, my school's robotics team, where I got to work on a rover to compete at the University Rover Challenge (URC). I also worked with my school's Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers (CSME) Chapter and the Ryerson Unmanned Aerial Vehicles team (RUAV).

I've had the opportunity to work as a robotics instructor at CAROBOT Learning and Education, a small company specializing in robotics education for youth, and even design some parts for their educational kits. I also completed a year-long internship at Toronto Hydro where I got to be a part of their Energy Solutions team which performed projects on renewable generation and battery-energy storage systems.

I'm a huge football (the real football) fan and love to keep up to date with consumer tech. I also love cycling - I'm always on my bike during summer evenings.
