Lander for Rover Testing

One of the URC challenges is Equipment Servicing, where rovers must manipulate switches, knobs, keyboards, drawers, latches, etc. on a "Mars lander" spacecraft. I was tasked with designing mockups of the lander to use as testing rigs for testing our rover's arm dexterity, precision, and accuracy. The rig panels were designed to be as close to the competition model as possible.

This project was undertaken during the early pandemic when we had limited access to tools and materials, so a slot and tab design was used to simplify the assembly process. The panels were laser cut out of fibreboard and assembled together onto a wooden frame.
